When to use it
Use Best 22 instead of Tier List when the argument is "who makes my team," not "who is better than whom" — the field layout carries information a row of S-A-B-C-D tiers cannot: this player is a half-back, not a forward, and that distinction is the whole debate for a team-of-the-year pick.
Fill every position before you export. An empty forward line or a bench with two names in it reads as unfinished rather than deliberate, and unlike a tier list, a gap in a position slot on an oval is obvious at a glance, even muted, even at arm's length.
Duplicate the finished team and swap it for a different era — "best 22 of the 2020s" next to "best 22 right now" is two videos off one field layout, and the position labels mean neither one needs explaining in a caption.
