Terms of Service

By accessing or using SnagTrace (the "Service"), operated by SnagTrace, Inc.("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. Additional terms may apply to specific features or paid tiers and will be presented at the point of purchase.

Business use only. SnagTrace is a tool for businesses and professionals. The Service is offered for business, commercial, and professional purposes only — not for personal, household, or consumer use. By using the Service or subscribing to a paid plan, you represent that you are acting on behalf of a business or in a professional capacity, that you are at least 18, and that you are authorized to bind that business to these Terms. Consumer-protection laws that apply only to personal or household transactions do not govern your use of the Service.

SnagTrace is a read-only measurement and monitoring service. We fetch and analyze publicly accessible web pages to generate AI-readiness grades and signals. We do not write to, modify, or control any external website. We do not access password-protected content or any content that is not publicly available.

Grades and signals represent our analysis at a point in time. They are informational measurements, not guarantees of search engine or AI engine behavior.

THE SERVICE PROVIDES MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS ONLY. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY SPECIFIC OUTCOME IN TERMS OF SEARCH RANKING, AI CITATION FREQUENCY, WEBSITE TRAFFIC, REVENUE, OR ANY OTHER BUSINESS METRIC. AI engine behavior is determined by third parties over whom we have no control.

Scores and grades may change over time as AI engines update their systems, indexing policies, and citation behavior. A high score today does not guarantee citation tomorrow.

SnagTrace only reads publicly accessible information. We fetch pages using standard HTTP requests, using our own crawler user agent (SnagTrace-Bot). We respect robots.txt directives. We do not bypass authentication, access private systems, or store the full text content of crawled pages beyond what is necessary to compute scores.

If you believe our crawler is accessing your site in a way that causes harm, contact us at legal@snagtrace.com and we will investigate and take appropriate action promptly.

The free grade feature requires no account. Paid tiers (Pro and Scale) require you to create an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a paid account. You represent that you have the authority to bind any organization on whose behalf you use the Service.

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. Prices are displayed in US dollars. Billing is handled by our payment processor (Stripe). Your card is charged at the end of any trial period unless you cancel before the trial expires.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods except where required by applicable law. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

You agree not to use the Service to: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) transmit automated requests at a rate that damages or disrupts the Service; (c) attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our underlying algorithms or scoring models; (d) resell or sublicense the Service without our written consent; or (e) use the Service in any way that could harm us, our users, or third parties.

The Service, including its design, code, scoring models, and content, is owned by SnagTrace, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership interest in the Service.

You retain all rights to your own data, including the domain names you submit for grading and any content you upload. By using the Service you grant us a limited license to process your data for the purpose of providing the Service.

We collect and process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. For paid accounts, we store your grading history, score trends, and citation tracking data for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after cancellation, unless you request deletion earlier.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share data with service providers (hosting, payment processing, email delivery) only as necessary to operate the Service.

If you believe content displayed in our Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to legal@snagtrace.com with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (b) identification of the material you believe infringes; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized; and (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SnagTrace, Inc. BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SnagTrace, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any third-party right; or (c) any content you submit to or through the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property claims.

YOU WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify paid subscribers of material changes by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
